[Tatsumi's face is seen as the video starts. He positions to device on what can be assumed a coffee table.]

Babe, I've got one more present for ya.

[As he finishes adjusting the communicator, Tatsumi gives viewers a wink before pulling away, holding his hands behind his back. America can be seen now, wearing a Santa outfit (minus the beard) and ripping through small presents.]

Alfred, we've only been together for eleven months, but with all we've been through in this short time it's made me cherish the moments we've had together. You've made me more joyful, more stable, and helped me believe in what I thought was impossible. I can't picture the rest of my life without you by my side.

So, I thought it about time I asked...

[Tatsumi drops to one knee and holds out a small box, opening it to show a gold ring.]

[There's no icon to properly express this combination of shock, horror, embarrassment, INTEREST, and many other things... He is both like oh my gosh why is this public how embarrassing and why are you doing this it doesn't work like that nooo, and also, oh my gosh this is sort of cute what is he going to say WHAT DOES THIS MEAN.

I feel like I've been poisoned or something. My heart thuds against the inside of my chest so hard that it rings through my ears. And when he's not around the floating feeling weighs me down and is the heaviest feeling.

But any other time I feel amazing! I can't get enough of him. Like, I could just cuddles him to death all day. or bite him but I'm afraid if I do that I'll end up eating him or something!!

[He starts laughing. Clearly something is really weird, even he knows it.]

[Tatsumi doesn't respond right away, but his eyes grow wider. From nowhere he starts laughing, a bit nervously]

[He's back to thinking. he can't decide if he's happy about it or horrified. The happiness from earlier just wants to say "Fuck it all" while another part of his mind is trying to say "This isn't right!"]

And I would hope Tatsumi-san is, if he made such a suggestion honestly. [Marriage]

[ At first the words and action barely register because he's so fucking busy tearing the shit out of any wrappings in order to get to his presents. Really, the wrapping carnage is everywhere.

Preoccupied as he is, the words hit him before he notices the whole down-on-one-knee thing. So he blurts out: ]

[ Then he looks up.

And freezes. ]

[ MIND = BROKEN. His jaw just hangs open in shock because holy shit he was not expecting this.

It's like the time Namine declared him to be his dad.

HUMANS ARE WEIRD. As are werepires by proxy.

[ But, even if it's not legitimate in the slightest, America loves new opportunities (and he loves Tatsumi, that might be an important factor too). Even more, he loves experiments, and what is this but an opportunity but to experiment how an illegitimate marriage between a vampire and a nation--two immortals from two different worlds (two male immortals, America would point out)--will work out. It'll be one of those things that would be hard to find in the history books, something for Alfred to keep in his nice little personal sphere.

Anyway, the shock is slowly disappearing and being replaced by sheer fucking excitement.

LET'S MARRIAGE THIS BITCH his heart is screaming. ]

[ Except his immediate answer doesn't come coherently. Instead, he makes a high-pitched noise, somewhere between a scream and a squeal, and leaps onto Tatsumi to give him a huge bear hug and kiss all over his face. ]

[It's a good thing Tatsumi is on one knee or he'd have broken something(Not that it wouldn't heal right away). Tatsumi's face brightens with embarrassment as he laughs]

I'll take that as a "yes!"

[He tries to hold America's face still long enough to give a tender kiss to the lips. Inside, his heart beats faster than it's ever beat before. It's past the point of "singing."]

[ Ahhhh the power of the mistletoe. Too bad it can't be forever, but luckily America doesn't know that. HE THINKS IT'S ALWAYS BEEN GENUINE oh well.

He doesn't let go of the hug. America squeezes so tight it's almost to the point of crushing the air out of Tatsumi's lungs. Meanwhile, he starts talking a million miles a minute. ]

Well yeah I mean it's not like official or anything like Hungary and Austria's marriage was but that's okay because politics and marriage is always a bad combo and I know I throw around the words "I love you" a lot but you know I do and I've never really done this before not all formally and whatnot since well I dunno why but even though this ain't like the regular thing it'll still be exciting and SHIT MAN WE NEED A WEDDING CAKE!

[ DEEP BREATH after all that rambling. ]

[Tatsumi doesn't really understand it, just that it feels amazing and he doesn't want it to stop. Not now when everything feels amazing.]

I love you too, babe. I've never felt like this before. You still love me even after the whole murder thing and everything. Just everything!

[At the cake comment, Tatsumi chuckles. He can't stop thinking of how CUTE America is being. he doesn't even realize that in any other situation he'd think this was annoying. Right now it's amazing and cute and fills him with happiness.]

Of course we need a cake! We're going to need the biggest cake!!

[Oh wait, the ring. Tatsumi takes America's hand to slip it onto his finger]

Here. I hope it's big enough...

Yeah well, we're fixing the murder thing. That should be your New Year's resolution! And by the time of the wedding, you should be totally cured! Just get some Thorazine...

[ He shakes his head. Not the time to think about such serious stuff. He examines the ring on his hand. ]

[ Actually it's a little tight but at this point he really doesn't care if he loses circulation in that finger. ]

Aw! Did he say yes?
